The Indian hospitality industry has emerged as one of the key industries driving the growth of the services sector and, thereby, the Indian economy as a whole. Performance of Tourism Sector during January 2019:

Ministry of Tourism compiles monthly estimates of Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) on the basis of data received from major ports and Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) from tourism on the basis of data available from Reserve Bank of India. The following are the important highlights regarding FTAs and FEEs from tourism during the month of January 2019.

Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs):
  • FTAs during the Month of January 2019 was 10.89 lakh as compared to FTAs of 10.55 lakh during the month of January 2018 and 8.8 lakh in January 2016.
  • There has been a growth of 3.2% in January 2019 over January 2018 as compared to a growth of 3.6% registered in January 2017 over January 2016.
Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) from Tourism in Indian rupee terms and US$ terms:
  • FEEs during the month of January 2019 were `11,197 crore as compared to `10,465 crore in January 2013 and `8,623 crore in January 2012.
  • The growth rate in FEEs in rupee terms in January 2019 over January 2018 was 7.0% as compared to 21.4% in January 2017 over January 2012.
  • FEEs in US$ terms during the month of January 2019 were US$ 29.96 billion as compared to FEEs of US$ 28.59 billion during the month of January 2018 and US$ 23.15 billion in January 2016.
  • The growth rate in FEEs in US$ terms in January 2019 over January 2018 was of 4.8% as compared to the growth of 8.96% between January 2019 over January 2007.

Campus Placements

Education plays a critical role in this profession. A diploma is essential, but a degree course is better. Because with a degree in hospitality course you can bypass the first stages and join as superior, thus saving three or four years of the grind.

Front Office

In the Hotel Industry, the front office welcomes guests to the accommodation section: meeting and greeting them, taking and organizing reservations, allocating check in and out of rooms, organizing porter service, issuing keys and other security arrangements, passing on messages to customers and settling the accounts.

As the Face of the House, Front Office plays very crucial role for that Role playing, Situation Handling, and Other Front Office related exercises, Property Management Systems, accounting are the key areas of training in this lab.

The standard operating procedure is a kind of procedure in which there comes a high quality training and that type of training is given to the front office to maintain the standard of the hotel.


The primary function Of the Food and Beverage Department is, of course, to provide food and drinks to a hotel’s guest. Restaurants vary greatly in appearance and offerings, including a wide variety of the main chef’s cuisines and service models. One will be well-acquainted with a number of the training methods covered here. While the guide will discuss a number of training techniques, its main purpose is to assist in the creation of an effective training plan for service employees and to show how to best organize and evaluate tasks in order to maximize the effectiveness of the training program.
